The blog plant

Every post on this blog is a branch of this plant. A new post puts out a new branch at the top; older posts sit lower on the trunk, and their branches have had longer to thicken.

Branches grow as their posts are read, and so do the leaves. Reads count on a logarithm and up to a limit per day, so one busy day never makes a branch run wild, and even an unread post grows a little with time. The most-read posts flower in spring and fruit in summer, in their category's colour.

The seasons follow the calendar in Saitama, and the weather is the day's, taken from the daily shader. Nothing about the plant is stored: it is drawn fresh from the posts, their read counts and the date. Counting keeps only a number per post and day, nothing about you.
